Fee Information
- Individual Counseling: $65 per 50-minute session. $40 per 30-minute session.
- Consultation (one-time meeting, 20-30 minutes, to gather information and offer impressions/recommendations): No charge.
I accept cash and checks. Payment is requested at the time of service.
A sliding-scale rate is available to a limited number of clients who cannot afford the regular fee. Please ask if you would like more information about the sliding-scale rate.
I have chosen not to participate in any insurance plans at this time. This provides a number of advantages:
- You and I decide on the type of service and time frame that best suits your needs, rather than the insurance company making those decisions.
- Avoiding insurance-related administrative work allows me to keep my fees relatively low, which benefits those who do not have coverage for counseling.
- Insurance companies generally require that you have a diagnosis in order to receive coverage for counseling. I do not believe that every person who can benefit from counseling has a diagnosable illness.
- Bypassing insurance allows you a greater sense of privacy, since insurance companies require information about clients’ work in counseling.
- Not having to file insurance-related paperwork allows me to focus more of my time and energy on your needs.
At your request, I am happy to provide an invoice that you may submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement for my services as an out-of-network provider. |
